Story by Anna C
Hello my name is Anna and I have been working for Hilton Care since 2013. I joined company after relocating from London.
As a new mum I took a position as a bank staff member and then moved onto a full-time position as a support worker. I didn’t have any experience in the supported living sector but Hilton Care provided me with training. After passing my probation I was promoted to a senior position role and for the past 10 years I have been a Team Leader at X in Brentwood.
I like to take on new challenges and offer my support to others. Within my employment I have faced some challenges but learned from them and these experiences were valuable to me. I had a lovely opportunity to meet the Royal Family – the Prince and Princess of Wales.
In 2016 I received a Team Leader of the Year award and have since been promoted to a Senior Team Leader role. However, being a young mum with two children and having a more responsible position became too demanding and therefore I decided to step down as a Senior Team Leader to spend more time with my family. I continued working at X as a Team Leader.
In 2018 we received the Best Service of the Year award and in 2023 we had the honour to receive the award again.
To increase my skills, I have completed all the training provided by Hilton Care and in January 2024 I successfully passed an assessment for Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF). Over the 10 years since beginning my employment I have made big career progression.
I’m very pleased to work in my service with such a friendly and supportive team. It’s a pleasure to look after the Tenants to ensure they receive the best quality of care and make a positive difference in their lives by supporting them to achieve their goals. We have a lovely atmosphere across the Essex services, where Tenants gather for seasonal parties and regular weekly activities, enabling them to make new friendships. I’m very thankful for the ongoing support from my staff team and Hilton management.
