Job Description – Senior Support Worker


  • A Senior Support Worker enables Service Users with learning disabilities to live a full and rewarding life within their own home/community. The role of the Senior Support Worker is to provide support to the Team Leader with delivering a high quality of services to Tenants and managing services within a Supported Living service. This involves managing all the activities, resources, people and information that are associated with this particular area of the business


  • To provide the level of support required by each individual service user to fill the gap between what they are personally able to do and what they actually need to be able to do to lead an independent life


  • All job-holders are required to work within the framework of the individual service users care plans and shared action plans to ensure that all of their needs are met


  • Additionally, job-holders are required to assume a “Key Worker” role for a specific service user; assuming overall responsibility for their well being and acting as a vital link between the service user and all the other component parts of their life


  • Key role is to cover other services within 40 mile radius and deputise the Team Leader as required
